Join the founding sales benchPart-time and full-time interest welcome. Independent 1099 opportunity.

Paid on each qualifying new account, scaled by the merchant and the contract terms.
Get paid every month the account stays active. Build a portfolio that can compound.
Trident plans to cover terminals and POS, so you don’t front hardware. Final policy confirmed before launch.
Illustrative earnings calculator
Adjust the numbers to model your potential monthly residuals over 24 months.
Use the left and right arrow keys to read each month.
Illustration only, using the numbers you set. Not a promise of results. These are not typical earnings or Trident compensation rates. Upfront commissions are not included. Actual pay depends on accounts signed, merchant processing volume, retention and your representative agreement.
You sign the same number of accounts at the start of each month. Annual retention is converted to an equivalent monthly rate (90% a year ≈ 99.1% a month), and every month’s group of accounts shrinks at that rate after signing.
Every active account is assumed to pay the same flat monthly residual. Real books are less tidy: merchants process different amounts and some leave early.

The work
A simple process. Real conversations. In-person field sales.
Walk storefront strips in your area and start real conversations with owners.
With permission, review their processing statement and show where costs may be higher than they need to be.
Present a suitable solution, including Clover where authorized, and get qualified merchants set up.
Stay the owner’s point of contact, keep accounts active and grow through referrals.
Who we’re looking for
Field sales experience helps, but payments experience is not required.

The founding bench
This is an early-interest form, not a job offer. Strong applicants will be contacted as Trident Payments prepares for its January 2027 launch.
We review applications ahead of the January 2027 launch and will reach out if it looks like a fit. Submitting isn’t a job offer or a guarantee of a position.
Applying is free. An application is an early expression of interest, not a job offer, a contract or a guaranteed position.
About Trident
We’re pre-launch, so some details are still being set. Here’s exactly where things stand.
Trident Payments is a merchant payment-processing business preparing for its full launch in January 2027. We help local businesses review how they accept card payments and present processing solutions that may suit them better.
Right now we’re recruiting our first group of independent sales representatives in Florida — the founding sales bench.
Reps work with Trident as independent contractors and receive a 1099, not a W-2. That means you aren’t an employee and you aren’t paid a salary or an hourly wage — you earn commissions under the terms of your representative agreement.
Independent contractors are generally responsible for their own taxes. If you’re new to 1099 work, it’s worth talking to a tax professional.
Yes. Part-time and full-time applicants are both welcome. Tell us which you’re leaning toward in your application — “not sure yet” is a fine answer.
No. Field sales backgrounds — door-to-door, solar, pest control, alarm and outside sales — translate well, and we welcome motivated applicants with no payments experience at all.
There’s no guaranteed amount. Reps can earn upfront commissions on qualifying merchant accounts and monthly residuals on the qualifying processing of merchants they signed. What you earn depends on how many qualifying accounts you sign, how much those merchants process, how long they stay, and the terms of your representative agreement.
The calculator on this page is a hypothetical illustration, not typical earnings and not a projection of what you will make.
A residual is an ongoing commission tied to the qualifying processing activity of a merchant you signed. It continues while that merchant remains an active, qualifying account, subject to your representative agreement. Residuals are not lifetime or guaranteed — if a merchant stops processing or leaves, the residual from that account stops too.
The plan is for Trident to cover terminals and POS equipment so reps don’t personally finance hardware. The final equipment policy is still being confirmed before launch.
Onboarding and training details are being finalized ahead of the January 2027 launch. Applicants who move forward will get the specifics as part of the next step.
The seven cities on this page are recruiting focus markets, not assigned or exclusive territories. How territories work will be set out in your representative agreement. If you’re elsewhere in Florida, apply anyway and tell us where you are.
We review applications ahead of launch and reach out to applicants who look like a fit to talk through the role, the agreement and next steps.
Submitting an application is an expression of interest. It isn’t a job offer, a contract, or a guarantee of a position.
